Understanding miniature scale

Scale compares a miniature with its full-size equivalent. In 1:12 scale, one unit on the miniature represents twelve units at full size.

• 1:12 scale: one inch represents one foot.
• 1:24 scale: half an inch represents one foot.
• 1:48 scale: a quarter of an inch represents one foot.
